Porcelain pin insulators are used on distribution lines, normally used on 6kv, 11kv, 15kv, 22kv, 25kv, 33kv, 35kv.

Pin insulators are mounted on the poles or towers with spindle, the spindle has lead head type, steel head type and plastic head type. ANSI and IEC standard have different head dimension.

ANSI standard needs porcelain thread type pin insulators, assembled with lead head spindle.

IEC / BS standard need pin type insulators with zinc sleeve, assembled with steel head spindle.

The conductor is assembled on top or side of pin type insulators with preformed ties.
